Environment

Scantox’ commitment to environmental sustainability is resolute. Striving for net-zero emissions by 2030, we have achieved a momentous milestone by reducing our electricity emissions to zero by 2024. Through ongoing innovation and responsible practices, we are dedicated to creating a lasting positive impact on the environment.

In 2024 we transitioned to renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, to power our operations. This move not only aligned with global efforts to combat climate change, but also showcased our dedication to being a responsible and eco-friendly entity. By investing in clean energy technologies and reconfiguring our electricity infrastructure, we have successfully eliminated our carbon footprint associated with electricity consumption.

We are proud to say that our corporation is today primarily running on green energy sources.

Installation of solar panels

At our HQ facility in Ejby 1,628 solar panels were installed in Q2 of 2024, with the aim to maximize production of own energy. The expectation is for Scantox Ejby to be able to cover one third of the facility’s annual consumption, which is a signification contribution not only to utilize our energy efficiency but also towards sustainability.

Social

At Scantox a significant goal is to elevate education by developing the next generation of talents and enhancing the skills of the existing workforce. We focus on empowering both the youth and seniors, fostering continuous learning, and bridging the gap between potential and proficiency.

We recognize that an educated and skilled workforce is essential for sustained success and innovation. Education is not just a one-time event; it is an ongoing journey. We take pride in our commitment to nurturing talent and empowering our employees through various educational initiatives.

One significant aspect of our dedication to learning is evident in our internship program. With over 5% of our total workforce consisting of interns, we believe in providing hands-on-experiences that contribute to the growth and development of the next generation of professionals. In 2023 our efforts were acknowledged as we were nominated for our local ”Bedste Elevplads” award, a testament to our commitment for providing an exceptional learning environment for interns.

Our commitment extends beyond the youth, as we actively promote education for all employees. Whether it is supporting professionals in pursuing management degrees or encouraging employees to pursue professional growth, we believe in fostering an environment where learning knows no limits. This goes across all functions in the company – from professionally trained animal technicians through to administrative roles.

Recognizing the pivotal role a positive workplace plays in attracting top talent and driving organizational success, we go beyond words, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.

FRCPath Certification

In 2023 the successful board certification FRCPath of Senior Pathologist Gitte Jeppesen establishes Scantox Group as a trailblazer in histopathology support, and reinforces Scantox prominent position in the industry.

Globally only a very limited number of pathologists are awarded this prestigious certification every year.

Governance

In 2024, Scantox is constituting a company-wide commitment to robust and global governance policies – introducing the global governance policies exceeds regulatory requirements and put Scantox ahead. Everyone at Scantox actively incorporates ESG into their work, making it a fundamental part of our collective responsibility. This proactive approach ensures ethical standards and contributes to our sustained success as a responsible industry leader.

Due to the substantial regulatory framework governing our industry, our operations are subject to rigorous oversight and compliance measures. As a result, Scantox has already established a robust digital Standard Operating Procedures system to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain operational efficiency.
Furthermore, we are able to provide real-time data on study emissions as of 2024. This daily and real-time data empowers proactive sustainability measures, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility.

Also in animal welfare, we constantly strive to go beyond legal requirements, as we believe it is essential for our business and our core values, as well as ensuring higher quality of science and a better working environment for our staff. In both Denmark and Sweden, Scantox representatives have been appointed seats on the national boards approving all in vivo studies.
