Drug Screening with Specialized Animal Models and Cell Lines
Primary cells and brain slices can be derived from animal models specific to certain diseases that are available at Scantox, providing the ideal complementary tool for in vitro and in vivo screening of drugs.
Commonly used neuroblastoma and neuroglioma cell lines as well as immortalized glial cells are on stock to perform assays with minimal lead time. Scantox is equipped to perform BSL2 research. Treatment of different cell types with viral vectors, siRNA or any other gene therapy approach is therefore feasible.
Our team has many years of experience in the cultivation and treatment of CNS cells, performs a broad range of readouts, and follows standardized protocols for various methods on a regular basis. Moreover, new models and strategies can be developed and validated upon request to support your research goals.
